If You Are in Transition, Coaching Can Be Helpful.

Still in College or Graduating From College
Many new graduates are happy to accept that first professional position, but they have not put their college research skills to use  investigating industries and companies.  Frequently they doom themselves by accepting jobs that are not a good match for their personality.  This often leads to frequent job changes that can negatively impact getting more suitable positions.  If you are a new grad or a soon-to-be grad you need to:
-   Determine your natural talents.  One way to do this is to ask yourself "What am I good at and what do I
    enjoy doing?"
-   Use your research skills to identify what would be the best job for you; then continue your research to
target companies that are known for developing their employees.
If you just can't get yourself to take action, coaching brings accountability.

Unemployed or Underemployed
Many Americans are unemployed or are worried about becoming unemployed. 25% of American workers feel trapped in a stagnant job and are ready to look for a new job as soon as the recession in over.
If you are unemployed, coaching may reduce the time needed to find a new job. Coaching will help you master the skills and techniques you need to be competitive in today's job market.

If you anticipate a job search, a coach can help you get ready by helping you discover your transferable skills, research jobs and companies, prepare resumes and letters and hold you accountable to the process.

Changing Careers
If you are changing careers, you may need the assistance of a coach to identify your accomplishments. talents, strengths, values, transferable skills and articulate how they are relevant to the position that you seek.  A major career transition may require a two or three step strategy to gain experience through education, part-time work, or volunteer work.  Changing careers in the present economy is difficult, but it can be done.  Focus on how much better your life will be if you have a career that fits your personality and uses your favorite skills.  You may become on of the 10% of American who love what they do and enjoy going to work.

Seeking a Promotion
Are you seeking growth and development in your current job?  Do you want to be recognized for your contributions, make more money, have more responsibility, figure out how to communicate better, or lead more effectively?  Coaching will help you identify where you are and where you want to be and then help you plan a strategy to bridge this gap.

Starting Your Own Business
Coaching may help you discover the type of business that you want to start, assist you in setting priorities and goals, and provide the accountability you need to follow through on your plans.  The ideas generated in a Profiting From Your Passions consultation can be used to start a full-time business, part-time or seasonal businesses, a "retirement" business, or as ways to generate multiple streams of income.
